How does it work?

Vehicle engines, which are equipped with EthanolTechnik ethanol conversion kits, can process E85 and quite any mixture of gasoline and ethanol without damage!

As EthanolTechnik is the only conversion system on the market that works truly automatic, there is no need to operate switches or electrical jumpers in the control unit at any time.

The working principle consists of an electronic control unit, which recognises the respective fuel automatically over the Lambda probe of the vehicle and adjusts the fuel injection according to the engine operating conditions.

the majority of  todays passenger cars seen on the roads, is already compatible with EthanolTechnik conversion kits. However, there a few limitations with regards to the type of injection system installed in the car.

The car must have been equipped already with a fully electronic, multipoint, air intake manifold fuel injection system (MPI, MPFI), which is typical for almost every passenger car manufactured in Europe after +/- 1996.
 
Vehicles with a central (Monopoint) injection system such as the Opel Kadett, Audi 80 or direct injection, such as modern Volkswagen, Audi FSI and TFSI engines, are not yet compatible with EthanolTechnik.

The installation of our E85 conversion kit can take place on the basis of the provided documentation, by a qualified car mechanic or one of our local garage partners in Germany.
